I have a pickup listed on CL and some of the idiotic scams people try to get away with is unbelievable!   :smt012

I like the guy that says I will take it but I am out of town and he will have his assistant send me a money order if I can give Hume all my personal info....I usually reply with "nice try" comment
Same guy sent me an email
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

If your trying to get rid of something, don't put it on the curb with a "free" sign, put some value to it, hang a sign on it saying $50 and it will be gone before you know it.
This forr sure!

This last summer I sold a bunch of stuff on CL. All seemed like decent folks. There were some sketchy folks that I reminded my dogs' bite is far worse than their barks.  and injected high velocity lead posion usually follows in our parts of the country.   :cowboy_cool:

The dogs drive me crazy, but I bet have scared away many people off our property. Hell they scare me sometimes. :smt096

Same guy sent me an email

Amen, get all kinds of stupid ass sob stories about how his family was killed in afghanistan by a car bomb, and needs to attend a funeral out of the country, but really would like to buy my bike for an extra $20, his assistant will pick it up after I receive the bogus payment..

Really??? all that going on and ya need a bike???  Guess it's the same guy who is sitting on 15 Million in West Africa and needs a trusted friend to wire the money too... unfriggen believable...  but watch out for this new one on Craigs list...

person posts a rental or a job position...  you respond, they respond back very nicely and set a time to meet but first if you get your " Free Credit Report..." from this  " trusted " site that they always use.... and they give you a link... Red Flag...

check the the name of the credit report company and sent off sirens!!!

seems they get your information and then start charging your credit card...  got ta watch yourself these days....

Jon, sorry to hear about the theft. On another note I've been getting a lot of use out of that little cart you sold me so thanks again bro! It's been really nice not having to lug around the old bulky heavy ass cart when I'm not planning to roll over any sand. jim

I posted a decent wooden school deck for free on CL a while back. Dude calls up all stoked, said it would be perfect for his elderly mother, what a great find, wow she's gonna love it, so on and so on. Felt pretty good to be helping someone out who apparent was in need. About an hour later I'm making a beer run and here's dude in the Safeway parking lot with a for sale sign on it. I pulled up and offered him $10. He said he was looking for $25. I had to laugh as I drove off.
