The wife want to go to tomorrow.

Can we take out Canoe there and paddle around? I know you can fish this location. I never scene anyone kayak or canoe there.

Any ideas or tips? I know it's connected to the American River :-)

I've seen rafts and float tubes there, so as far as I know, a canoe or kayak would be ok. Might be a ways to carry your boat to the water, so best to have wheels. Probably why folks use inflatables there. People launch around the far left end of the pond, looking from the fishing pier. Follow the bike path until you see the path to the launch area. It's barely connected to the river by two shallow, narrow streams. The influent might be navigable, but the out is not. Don't expect to catch much there. Your wife will enjoy it.
You can get just as drunk on water
As you can get on dry land.

I fish it during the spring time when I am getting my Bass stuff prepped.  Good training grounds.  Caught some decent 3-4lb Bass there.

Another alternative is if you go right from the parking lot (at the end of the road) and follow the dirt road to the last section where the lake veers to the left.  There is a little walk down that is somewhat manageable to launch from.

I have kayak fished it there, but it is just as easy to fish the shore line so only did it the once.

Plus what Steamer said.
