They should do the trick but you might want to replace the treble hook for a single hook so you do not loose them so fast.
Did you check out the cheap diamond jig post that is a fantastic deal and they send to you right away

That is a beautiful jig.  Nowadays all I use are these in 3.5 oz in color 18 with the treble switched out to a siwash...DEADLY About 5 bucks at Wallyworld.

color 17 works too (oh heck, I'm sure they all do for rockfish)

they also sell a single hook version in 3.5 and 4.5 oz, but the hook is affixed permanently.
for tuna fishing. on the slide, drop back stuff I guess.

the 'kudako' model.

cabelas sold them over the winter for $2.99 believe it or not. clearance.... they went pretty quickly.

here's what they look like:

5.99 here:

I don't like the short shank on those guys as much as the long shank VMCs we use, I tried those and missed a fair amount of hook ups, but they are much better than a treble.

well, I have some of each, I will give them a try.  a gamakatsu 5/0 siwash on a 3.5oz sardine pattern did well last year.

I have used 16, 17, 36. They are very effective. But the 36 is my favorite and 16 would be next. I actually put on barbless octopus hooks. But I'll try the long shanked siwash hook this year. What about those Gamakatsu stinger hooks, the ones with the red string?

Those squid jigs looks like they will work pretty good. I really like the shape. Looks like it will drop down head first.

Trying to stay away from bait this year for rockfish. But I might have to bring a tray of herring just for the hell of it...

I agree with Sean here.  When I reach for a megabait, it's black and silver first.

VMC hooks can be good to great.  More of a low-bling commercial minded Co. I love their open eye siwash hooks...except when I stick them in my palm!
