Nice...thats the one I'm thinking of getting as well.  Let me know how you like it once its up and going.

Won, that's the one I've being using and my first FF. I like the fact that it had both sonar and gps plotting. My buddy is getting the Elite 4 DSI soon so I will let you know the difference. I am thinking of getting the HDS-5 soon, though. Couple reasons: larger screen, more advanced sonar, and faster processor speed. I notice that when I scroll around in the GPS it is kinda slow. Other than that, the Elite 4 is awesome as a starter FF.

Yea, I was thinking about the DSI model too, but I don't think I'll be needing that feature, but let me know what you think when you see it in action.

I think I'll be showing up on Sunday with one of my friends, but won't be on the water.  I'll be there for the potluck and while you guys are out fishing, I'm going to be poke poling nearby for some monkeyface eels.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll there.

Guys, we got our limit today. Launched from Bean Hollow around or just past nine into a smooth fogless perfect ocean. Got a 24" ling, a copper, and blacks made up the rest.  Wind picked up good just past noon before 1PM.

Launching from Bean Hollow or Pigeon Point? I vote for the easiest, safest spot; but I'll join the group where ever.

Pigeon Point is the place.  Bean Hollow - early morning launch but return can be a bit hairy if wind blows with the combined wave/swell effect in the afternoon.  Pigeon Point, no problem, manageable all day.

@Nicksyak, we always check the swell @ Bean Hollow first if doable. Otherwise, we move to pigeon point.

We usually meet at bean first, if you get there before 8 and no ones there then more likely we launch at pigeon point

I know they are several miles apart, so even though this violates some kind of security protocol, here is my cell # 707-980-9109. I'll be coming from Vallejo, would appreciate a call early that morning, or other notice via this sight which I'll check tomorrow night. I can arrive by 0700 hrs., maybe earlier, and I'll be on CH 69. Looking forward to it. Tight lines, y'all.

I'll bring something for the potluck. If we get blown out, we'll make the best of it -- we are, after all, NCKAers.
