That's horrible, I do not see any reason for going that fast! It had to be a testosterone thing about how big is BOAT!

I feel sorry for the passengers!!!

Glad that no one was airlifted from what I could tell...

For sure. Clearly no one was thinking about safety. No one had a pfd on.

OMG that was insane. That driver had no clue what the hell he was doing. Lucky he throttled down as he was falling or it would have been a lot worse. Scary people like that own boats.

A license for cars, planes, motorcycles, guns, fishing rods...why the hell don't we need a license to operate a boat to keep jackwads like this off the water?

And the sunglasses stay in the boat.

Hope everyone was ok, what a bad idea that was!

Throttling down in crossed up wake is probably the reason he lost control after getting slammed from the side the first time. Dude needs a kill switch.

I dig big offshore bombers...if I had the jack to own, maintain and fuel up one of those monsters I'd have a skater in my fleet.

I'd advocate for boating licenses ... for the safety of all those around you.  I'd also like to see a license for people towing a trailer.

I just saw your post Art as I was writing this. You were thinking the same as me on the wake senario.

Don't criticize till you know that drivers abilities and why it tried to roll.  I've been in boats like that for15 years. Been much faster than they were going. I've only heard of or seen a few accidents. Unless you've been in, or driven an off shore boat, you have no idea how stable they really are. It looked like they were hauling ass but I bet they were only going 70 or so mph when that happened. That is nothing for one of those boats. I don't know the mods on that boat, but the top speed on a factory Fountain PB that size is only around 70-75 mph. Maxed out with MAJOR mods your only looking at 90-100. Race boats of that style in open class race trim only run 110-120max. Again, those boats are designed for it. The worst wreck I ever saw was when the steering broke at a poker run at Lake Texoma on one boat and it shot in front of another boat and got cut in half. Nothing to do with driving ability. Now, I'm not really trying to defend the driver, but it may sound like it. I'm just saying there may have been other factors involved. He was on and off the throttles going over the wakes, just like he should have been. Rookie drivers leave it wide open and don't know how to react as fast as he was.  Dumd ass jet skier cut in front and made evasive maneuver, or just a bad break cutting a wake. Yes, PFD's would have been a good idea, but how many of you wear them when on anything besides your kayak? The only time I wear one on offshore boats is in a race or poker run. The fastest I've been in an offshore race boat was 135 gps MPH in a 36' Eliminator Catamaran. Felt stable as hell at that speed. Sorry about the rant, I just don't like it when people jump to conclusions like you all have without knowing the facts, or how those boats really are.

Don't think anyone was doubting the boats capability to go that fast or handle the conditions....  Those are sturdy boats by all means!  You are correct, we don't know his capabilities as a drive nor do we see the conditions of the water or crafts ahead of him that lead up to this.  It appears that he attempted to make some sort of corrective action and maybe didn't make the correct decision based on the scenario.

The one in the pink ended up with a broken eye socket. Several broken bones from the rest.

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
