I, too, have been looking for the right material to make haka. I have some teak and it's definitely heavy. I also looked at Tailwalk's haka. Nicely built, but I would like to look around for something lighter. The HF ramp seems light enough. I'd like to see what you come up with Eric.

My goal is 10lbs or less per haka. I think I am going to be looking at wood.

Buy used paddles on Ebay and use the shafts as the supports for the bench.

That was another idea. Round shafts in a frame.

Building furniture for your AI?  Sixty inches inlength?  No wonder DMV is requiring Cf numbers!

I experimented with a bunch of different materials-- wood, fiberglass flooring, and fnally landed on the spine boards.  They float, are reasonably light, and were so-so cheap.

I still have a dream of building a frame for the tramp material, then stretching the crap oout of it to provide a sag free tramp- but i am going to pause on that for  bit

man...you all are stealing all my ideas! I wonder if the flex will be too much. Maybe have to add a stringer to stiffen it up. I'd also want to soften the steel edges.

I really do like the spine board....Not really a CL find. Any of our ERT or fire fire figheter peeps out there got any laying around?

saw that link as well. For $75 bucks it may be worth a shot. I can just see the look on my wife's face....WTF is a spine board? And what are you using that for. Steve, did you just attach them with bungees?

go with the backboard.  You can ink in some graduated markings and have an oversized measuring tool.  handy for gauging WSB lol.

also, in case someone has a cardiac event OTW you have a platform for compressions.

Rudy installed a couple of spine boards and got them off ebay. Looks like a great solution.
