:smt006 Hi I'm so new to this I have a ton of questions. I don't know where half the the launch spots on the bay are that you guys talk about, is there a good map out there somewhere ?
When you troll for stripers in the bay what kind of lures/bait do you use?
does anyone fish san pablo dam? I'm going to try it next week. and then see if I can make it up to mendo to see sean and some woooppers.

Miyak - West Marine sells some good detailed maps (with launch spots) - might want to give them a call.

http://www.fishsniffer.com/cmyer/031603trout.html  = here's an old report of San Pablo Dam.

I like using white/red rattle traps when trolling the Bay for Stripers.

Good Luck in San Pablo - I've fished there before - lot's of fish but the Lake is HUGE and has a lot of "fishy spots"...like any other lake, you just need to put in your time to actually find the hot spots (or ask a fisherman-friendly-local). I never got to fish it enough to know the productive areas - but if I knew - believe me, I'd share that info.  :smt023

I see your in El Cerrito, a nice spot near to you is the Richmond and Berkeley marina. Both spots will produce stripers and coming soon halibut. Some of the lures i perfer are rattle traps and fish traps in the anchovie  or whit color. what day are you  thinking about going and I'll see if I got some time to join ya if you don't mind.
Here is a kool map  http://baytrail.abag.ca.gov/maps/Carquinez_Strait.pdf
