We're making plans to go to Baja in October and want advice on a 6 to 1 ratio reel for yellowtail and WSB.
Any ideas on reels would be helpful, Thanks  p.s.  fish are in the 20 to 40 lb. range and 2-300ft of water.

avet makes em in left hand crank, also made in usa.im selling off a couple of reels and buying one
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Bummer...
Avets are not too expensive unless your looking for the two speed.the regular sx in the left hand crank on eBay is going for 160 with free shipping

What line class are you looking at and braid or mono?

I am an Avet fanboy so I would say the JX/LX or you may be able to get away with the MXL/MXJ if you intended to use braid. I have an MXL in 5.8 to 1 and although I am not jiggin for yellows I find the gear to be to high with a topped off spool. Not enough leverage. I prefer the lower gear ratios in my SX and LX. Course if $ is not a factor get the 2 speed so you can drop to that lower gear when you hook up.
