iPod Touch?

 
Hey all you techno wizards, my wife has an ipod touch, I recently set up wireless at our house, (Linksys D1200 modem) so I wanted to set up her ipod so she can do email.
Simple enough so I thought. I followed the Touches add new email online procedure, I opened the the "Mail" button on the touch, selected "add new account" selected Yahoo as the mail program,(From 5 or 6 available IE Live, hotmail,gmail etc) entered the required information, (email address) when finished selected "Save" the touch then attempted to connect to her mail. Got an error something like "The mail server is not available please try again later" I know the Touch gets on line, by pressing the safari button it goes right to a Yahoo page and displays news and crap.
So, I'm obviously missing something.(Her yahoo mail was closed on her pc, while I was setting up the touch) Acording to a online help screen for the ipod touch the touch should have got the required server info from the mail server automatically when it attempted to connect. It didn't. Will we need some shit called Yahoo Mail plus? I tried one more time to see if maybe I forgot something, and got same results.
I guess I'll have to search round in the touch to find a manual way to set up yahoo mail. (POP BS ) Any suggestion regarding setting up yahoo email on this touch?

Setting up a Yahoo email on an iPod should be easy - everything should be preconfigured.  Delete that account and try again.  The last time I had that error, I think I had the wrong password entered.

My iPod touch and my iPhone 4 do that sometimes I just do a hard restart and that seems to work

Not wireless for sure

Reset the web mail account password could help too.  If it tried to log on to the account 4 or more times unsuccessfully it can lock up.  Delete the account first and try again after resetting password and then set the iPod up.

  I'm sure I'll hear about it if my wifes email got locked up because of this.   Any clues how to reset the ipod?
  Password was correct each time.  Didn't think about numerous login attempts from the ipod tripping anything on yahoo mail.  Good thought! Thanks.
Will resetting the thing wipe out any thing my wife may have saved on it?  As you might can tell, I have zero experience with an ipod,pad, except for the few minutes I played with the thing last night attempting to get the mail up.
 

Try a hard restart hold the power and home button at the same time till the power off screen apeers power it down then wait 30sec and turn it back on
