Greetings everyone. 👋
I’m a welder in real life, and a newbie to The fishing and kayaking Obsessions. As you can see from my posted picture, I’m a little excited. Selling off a motorcycle and a power hammer to fund the first of many “ implements of fishing “ so it’s all or nothing with me. I live in Joshua tree, ca. So all of my Kayaking adventures will start with a road trip, and at least a week off. God is good.
Bought a ascend 128t (last one In stock on the planet I think) and have a Lowrance hook2 5 triple shot on the way.
Also have a used ($20 and a twelve pack) perception sunchaser 9.5 that I got, to try it out twice on Big Bear Lake to see if I liked it first...I DID!
Thanks in advance for all of your time and advise to come in the future, God bless (He does) and happy kayaking. See you in the water👍

Hi all. Monterey newbie here. This pic was taken at Palmilla Cove in Cabo. The Amberjack is my largest kayak fish to date. It was caught jigging a Krocodile in 40'. It was my first outing on my brand new Hobie Revo, and I couldn't get the fish finder to work. So I fished structure where I had caught smaller fish before. It almost pulled me over! ....An epic day.

Welcome to the group, and Nice Jack !     I caught this one down S.Padre Island.   They sure got some pulling power.

Nice! I imagine kayak fishing on the Gulf is fantastic..... It's interesting how the fin coloration of your Amberjack is different from mine caught in Baja.

Hi all, my name is Carter. Life-long spearfisherman and sometimes kayak fisherman. Here's me with a trio of yellowtail from earlier this year at San Clemente Island (SoCal). I'm gunning for a >10lb kayak salmon this season, so have been participating on this board more in the past few weeks than I typically have in the past. Glad to be here.

Hey yall,
My name is Barnaby and I live in the SF peninsula. I love all kinds of fishing, and have recently gotten into kayak fishing via some friends with tandem setups. Also, I am new to flyfishing in the surf, and spearfishing - so if you have any advice or want to link up and fish together, please feel free to reach out to me.

Hope to get to know many of you
Blessings,
- Barnaby
