Share some Baja intel with me!

I'm planning a road trip to Baja, with a couple of fishing days in the mix. I'll be traveling by motorcycle, probably in November when things begin to cool down a bit.

So, I'm looking for smaller towns with great beaches, great fish tacos, nice little camp spots with palapas and good options for jumping on a panga for the day. No kayaks on this trip, and no fishing gear either, so I'll be fishing like a tourist!

I'm going to pass through places like Mulege and Los Barilles, San Felipe and Loreto and Puertocitos, and La Paz.

I know of Rancho Leonero and the like, but I think I'll be looking for simpler and humbler lodging, more like beach camps and mom and pop hotels.

Got any favorites?  Your input is appreciated.

Mikes sky ranch is an all time favorite for the motorcycle crowd. Call ahead and they'll save a room. Pete's camp in San Felipe is a great spot too. November is going to be busy in baja with the baja 1000. This is a peninsula run year so The race will go from Ensenada to la paz. Go to SCORE's website for the dates. I know when we raced baja most major teams arrive in October and prerun for a few weeks before the race so your serenity might be in question. Highway 1 gets pretty busy.

Go strait to the ramps, marina or the area where they are cleaning the boats so you can take a look at the fishing equipment that you will be using or try bait and lures shops, never book with one of those timeshare people or a hotel that demands a deposit, they usually take 50.00 for the deposit and that is their cut and you may be booking a bad boat or bad gear. try to find the boat captain for the pangas.

i have a house at petes camp, plenty of palapas on the beach for camping, showers, flush toliets and a bar on the bluff. maria's fish taco stand next to the miramar bar on the malacon are great, cameron

November is the start of the windy season. There should be plenty of wind/kite surfers camping on the beaches. The arroyo north of Las Barilles  is a hot spot as well as La Ventana. Cabo Pulmo is great for snorkeling.
