Cast of Characters: John, Chris, Troy and Gary
Conditions: Windy, sunny, incoming tide

Launched from the ramp behind Encinal HS (when I finally found it).  JTF and Chris were waiting for everyone to show when I got there at 7:30.  Paddled out into the wind and let it take us along the rockwall into the protected areas and looped around a number of times.  Troy launched after we went around the corner but caught up to us when we were fishing near the marina.

John got hit hard near the marina and Chris hooked up a small hali.  However, most of the day we got blown around by the wind and tried here and there with no striper or hali love.  I marked schools of bait by the marina but nothing like the biomass at Oyster Point.  Chris mentioned that it would be to our advantage that there was less feed and more hungry fish.  I know I'm missing a few things so you guys jump in on this post with your observations.

Thanks to John and Chris for showing us newbies, Troy and myself the fishy spots and how to read the area.  Thanks to Chris for generously giving Troy and myself bait.  Always a pleasure to see everyone and share the madness.

I had a good time fishing yesterday.  It wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Although, those conditions really mess up your chances.   I was able to mark bait but never marked any fish until the very end of the day. :smt012  Other than that, I'll just chalk this day up to kayak fishing exercise and a nice little paddleing workout.

THanks for the smelts Chris.  Good fishing with both of ya Troy & Gary.  Alot of striper and hali fishing IMHO is timing.  We'll have to time it different next time.  JTF..

You guys made me feel much better now :smt001.  I am glad I am not the only one who got skunk out there  :smt013.  I was at the rockwall a week and half ago, got my live shiner and smelt, but didn't have anything to show for.  I had one hit all day right in front of the launch.  That was it.  Two days later, Chris (CPkayak) posted his 41 incher, then ChuckE and Craig both caught a striper.  Insaneduane seems to always have good luck there.  I guess you really have to know the spot there.  Well, I might sneak out of work on Thursday a.m. and try it a again if anyone wants to join me.  I should have plenty of live bait.
