I just mounted the 1"  gps/ff mount Pat built for us earlier..Those systems are sweet...very professional work Pat! I will post pictures after mounting the 2" Ram Ball kits.

I have 5 of Pats mounts and love them. I did marine goop them once I decided where to put them to keep them from rotating under heavy load.

Hi SteveS not sure what you mean about the tapered bottom but the 1/2 round part on the bottom is cut to fit on the Aka bar or where you refring to the black things on the hose clamps, that's just rolled up Velcro to pervent scratching you or the other bars while in the bag :smt006.
