I haven't put any serious thought into this, so I have no real specifics or anything.  Would anyone be interested in a "invasive species tourny?"  My idea would be something like Lake Pillsbury... It is chalk full of squawfish.  They are nonnative, and everyone would love to see them eradicated.  It would be a fish and chill kinda deal... more for fun than anything else.  Two man teams... most total weight wins, with little prizes for big fish or total fish or something.  Perhaps something could be arranged to have the fish transported to a fertilizer plant or something, so it isn't just total killing for the sake of killing.  Anybody have any ideas, thoughts, suggestions?  Maybe a little late for this year, but next spring?  I know Pillsbury is a serious haul for a lot of you guys down in the Bay, but it is a beautiful place with great camping.

Great idea, that lake is full of those critters. I think that a  hit to their population would be a good thing. You may want to contact fish and game they may be happy to help us out in some way.

I will start looking into it... the campgrounds start closing soon, and the deer hunters take over the area... perhaps next spring.  Should give us plenty of time.  I've never arrange a tourny before... anyone want to be a co-organizer?

Sounds fun you might contact Soda Creek Store(Nick if he is still there) & friends of Lake Pillsbury. I know they sponsored Sonoma Co Belly Boaters Squawfish Derby's up there in the past.

That's a good idea... You should have a competition like a cook off... See if anyone can make an edible dish outa the fish you catch and kill. Who knows, maybe someone has an awesome recipe for a sucker fish....
That way if you throw them away at least the effort was made to eat them, well, sort of...
