Our very own Harold "fuzz" Gibson and Rick "SlickRick The Ruler" Duenas are competing today in the US Spearfishing Nationals at Albion.

Fuzz is on a team with Dan Silveira and Dave Edlund, two other extremely talented divers.

Not sure who is on Rick's team...

Fuzz and Rick are both super awesome divers and great guys who are always willing to share their knowledge and experience with others.

Fuzz put me on my personal best cabezon a few months ago after a bad ear infection kept me out of the water for over a month...will be eternally grateful for the stoke I got from nailing that fat cabbie right in the face!

 

Anyway, I'm sending good vibes out to both of them and hoping they encounter abundant fat fish and have a great, safe time in the water!

Good thing you hook and line guys can fish deeper reefs than the ones most of the freedivers will be hunting on!

I'm diving up there next Friday and will hunting outside of the "kill zone" of 2 miles north and south of Albion cove!

My team won the U.S. National Free Dive Spearfishing Championships in Northern CA today. The weather was rough and my kayak flipped and nearly sunk. My team-mates (Dan Sliveira and Harold Gibson) took 1st and 2nd place as individuals. Dan caught a lingcod that is a pending 21st Century world record and I got to see him land it. My team-mates are gave me a champagne bath!!! Go Giants!!!!
