Try the Tackle Box in Salinas off Davis Rd, or Compass Bait & Tackle in Seaside off Broadway, or JDs Auto/Gone Fishin in Sand City. I'm pretty sure they have em @ Tackle Box but the other 2 might have em too. Compass is new and the guy is a kayak fisherman.

Landbigfish.com has cheap, that is, reasonable shipping, but be prepared to wait a couple weeks to get them

I believe most guys are using 1-4 oz heads depending on conditions and 5 to 7 inch baits.  Personally I like the lightest head possible with a 5 inch bait.

Im using 4oz heads mainly for the deeper water and wind/ drift. It keeps the line fairly vertical which will cause less snags. I work the jig head right on the bottom. Walking up and dropping down structure.  I use mainly 30 lb braid with a 30lb top shot of seaguar blue label. 6.5 in baits are my favs. I like the red and brown colors the best.

I found some at the Sports Authority in Gilroy.  There is also a new tackle shop that opened in the Monterey area (off lighthouse I believe - I see them advertise on Craigslist).  Might have to make a trip to Santa Cruz?
