After a two week recovery from the vet snipping his family jewels, I was finally able to get my dog Riley on the yak.  We ventured out a few days ago on the yak without any fishing equipment and he liked it a lot.  I also found out he can swim when he jumped off at the ramp as we pushed off!  He climbed back on and stayed put for the next hour.  The next day I brought the rods (two).  He totally watched every cast from start to finish.  No fish that trip.  Got him on my dad's bass boat at Nacimiento and he again closely watched us cast, but showed very little interest in the fish, maybe a sniff or two.

Finally I got him on the yak and caught some small spotted bass.  He again behaved very well.  Not sure how he'll react to a six-plus pounder from the delta though.

Enjoy, and thanks for all the tips (from the other post) guys.

Sweet. Those border collies are really smart. Teach him to swim on command only. I fish with my dog on all winter and spring. Will probably take her crabbing this fall. I put a rubber bath mat in the tankwell. More comfortable and keeps the kayak cleaner.

Thanks.  I will use those ideas.
