Never heard this storie!

 
Gonna need another pooptube to contain the BS in this thread.

The 277 is way outside of Catalina, I think. As in the 277 fathom mark. Pretty far boat ride...better bring a pooptube extender! 

I kinda figured it was "bombs away" and hope you aren't on the bottom of the climb.   Parachute for the poop tube?

You got everything right, but ours was about 3 feet long and we actually pooped into the plastic bags you get at the grocery store to put your veggies in...you know the ones...right there on the roll and you just take what you need to put your limes in or whatever...we just went in the store and shoved a whole bunch in our pockets...

 

Didn't use kitty litter or nothing either...kinda wish we had cuz Mr. Stinky as we called our PoopTube was RIPE by the time we were done....

You usually empty the tube and then re-use it...we just threw the whole damn thing away!

That was epic!

Back in the  70's, before I got fat and lazy, I was a rock rat as well.
climbed at J-tree, tahquitz/suicide, and other SoCal crags.
got to the point of leading 5.10's,
 spent a week in Yosemite Valley with my partner Jim Wilson and climbed Washington Column's South Face
and NW face of Half Dome.
I still have some climbing gear from back in the day, I keep it around to remind me of the good old days

Awesome!! I have spent a lot of time at Joshua Tree and LOVE that place!

I lived for a year in Idyllwild when I worked for the Forest Service and did one route on Tahquitz...super cool rock!! I also found the dead body oif a young free soloer over at the base...very sad...

I'm too fat and lazy to climb hard now as well, but I do like bouldering every now and again, or taking my daughter to the climbing gym....

Part of me wants to see this "poop tube" but it's probably exactly what I'm imagining. Like a bait tube? Canvas or plastic? OK nevermind I don't wanna know
