I mostly fish rivers, but NOTHING is out of bounds for me if there are fish. I'm 6'3" 250-270 depending on deployment status and time of year. I plan to buy used for my first and would like to be paddling for $600 or less. Anything I should look for? Any brand? Just don't wanna get something my oversized self is gonna ruin quickly. Thanks in advance

Don't do a tandem bro.  Then Marie is going to insist on going along on your fishing trips! Hahaha

Cobra is a good platform or your size.

I'd take a look at the Jackson Cuda.  I just picked one up and can't speak highly enough about it.  Super stable, easy to paddle, some great fishing features.  Not sure if there are too many used ones around (especially for under $600), but I know Dan at Headwaters has a demo that he was talking about selling for a great price.

Check with Dan at Headwaters. He still has a Wilderness Ride that may work for you in your price range.

trident 15's a good boat. My friend and I paid six hundred for ours .  they were demos. A prowler big game would be good.  My boat performed well to day with myself 240 and both of my kids 125 one in front and one in back and it wasn't even tippy.  After several kayak purchases I wish I would have got a  hobie right away. I really can't wait one get one and be able to fish more and paddle less

I never knew you could test drive a yak! I will definitely look into it. If not, I can always deal with buyers remorse :smt005

I got a Heritage Kayaks Redfish 10 that I am loving. You can find a 12 for that price point.
