I just ordered a set of beach wheels, and I figured what better way to try them out than a nice lug across the beach at Muir?

I'm planning to launch early and fish outside a bit until the wind chases me back inside. Then I'll fish the sandy areas in about 30 feet of water and hopefully score my first flatty of the season.

Anyone else gonna be out there? I'll be on CH. 69.

Anyone have any tips for fishing Muir? Are there any easy to find reefs out a little deeper? I'd really love to bring home a vermillion or two...

Excellent... Last time I was there (before RF season opened) I caught and released a fat cabezon while fishing for halibut on the north side of the cove. Wouldn't mind if that happened again...

Hey.  I've been wanting to try there ever since RF season opened this year.  I'm new to the area, so can't offer much intel, but I'm willing to try.

I'm getting my wetsuit in the mail too soon. Wondering what kind of shoes yall are gonna wear so your feet don't freeze? I only got a pair of Merrils (kinda like water shoes), do I need to get any special yak shoes?

I wear a pair of breathable chest waders unless it's really sloppy out there, then I'll wear an old "retired" surf wetsuit and booties.  Wearing a wetsuit above water in the sun is a recipe for swamp-ass...

Well shit... Instead of coming home to a box of beach wheels on my doorstep, I came home to a FedEx note.

Looks like I'll be getting an extra good workout tomorrow...

I like your enthusiasm Alex!  FedEx is notorious for not leaving packages on the porch.  I found UPS better for that.
