And dinner is on me if you catch a mythical 18" crappie!   :smt044

I'll see you there Ron. Looking forward to it, haven't fished there in many, many years, and have been wanting to get back up there.

I am going to try to get out of work around 5:30 (In Roseville).  Should put there around 6:30.  I am familiar with Colfax and the Greenhorn exit.  I have never been to that part of the lake though.  Can you describe or draw on a map where I should look for everyone?

My set up for running bait at rollins is 10lb line, hook with 2' of line to a shot weight (small) 1' more to a swivel and then placing a slide bobber 2' above that. Puts bait in the bass strike zone... I snell tie my hooks drop shot style and cut the trailer line off. When bait is taken hook pops loose and 98% if the time lands with a good hook set in the upper lip. I prefer Gamakatsu drop shot hooks. eagle claw balsa bobbers in chartreuse can be seen well in the dark :smt003 For cats I use the same but might pull the bobber off to get it to the bottom. Rollins cats WILL come up to the bait and take it... A ball of worms, chicken livers work great. Stinkbait has yet to work for me at Rollins

      Pole---------------BOBBER------2'--------SWIVEL---1'------SPLITSHOT-------------------2'--------------------HOOK

If I could be there I would be there. Our trip to San fran= flue bug....

Remember NO MINNOWS ALLOWED AT ROLLINS LAKE...

If you all can wait till next week I will go with you teus/thurs? good luck...

If no minnows are allowed then what live agents are you talking about, Ron?
Can you let us know?

Here's a map of Greenhorn area with numbers.  Can you describe where to go based on the numbers?  (I hope this shows up large enough)

Here's a map of Greenhorn area with numbers.  Can you describe where to go based on the numbers?  (I hope this shows up large enough)

Ok... 8 and 9 areas I generally ignore... fish are there but I concentrate generally further into the cove/river area... 7 is the spot with all the censored... Censored 2 to 3" range should do.... then head to the right all along the shore line to the point (Just past 6) for spotted bass 15 feet off shore with bait 5 feet below the bobber. Big night crawlers work too. I put 2 center hooked in an "X" pattern. Between spot 2 and 5 is a sand drop off that holds Bigger bass and cats just after dusk. All the way up in the corner of 3 is a small creek coming in. There are bass and BIG cats in this area. Be ready for anything to happen (this is where we got the Bigish cat Tuesday) Bass can be found till just after dark then they hide from the catfish (caught a 30" cat there with a 18" bass in it's gullet) I won't be there due to illness.... Bird??? I Hope to go out Tuesday of next week again. From 7 towards the docks (left) is a mixed bag... Crappie will generally be in that area, next to the launch and up into the cove. left side is deep and steep. right side is sloping and reedy... Largemouth can be found in this area. They respond well to lures and the mythical 18" crappie fell to a 4" super fluke just below the surface while jerking it weightless. Crappie love whole large (real) night crawlers, but so does everything else :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 Stay safe and watch for powerboats... They will all slow WAY down when they pass the line of 2-5 (shallow) Watch for weird high boat waves... Good luck
