We're facing fast drift (2 -3 mph) today and heavy fog almost the whole day.  There's an NWKA kayaker got lost even with his GPS on board.  He's rescued by the Coastguard but OK.  I caught a few Lings and Black RFs but no Cabie today.   We got a good work-out for the last 2 days and hoping for a better ocean condition tomorrow.  Sorry got to turn-in early for tomorrow fishing trip.  Here are some pictures of the day :smt003

We're blessed with 2 good weather days last Friday & Saturday.  Today the wind came up, light rain on/off and big swell with short duration so we went to plan B to try out Newport.  Well...it's nice place but the current is fast there too.  We tried outside the bridge by the jetty but only 1 Sculpin was caught and released by Martin.  The derby winner was Jammer who also won last year ORC derby.  We made new friends and felt right at home with their hospitality.  Some of them might come down and join us at Albion and/or GS7 next year.  We really enjoyed this trip very much and hope to come up again next year.

Loose Screws really Slayed em !!!     Made a big haul in spite of the heavy current running.  Very impressive showing guys !

Pole Pole got a bad break after that guy got "lost in the fog" ..   He stopped  fishing , drifting down the coast for nearly three miles in order to relay radio contact to the Coast Gaurd.    Then had to make the long paddle back upstream to the harbor entrance.   Never once complained about it either.

No complaints from me.  I did what needed to be done, and what anyone else would have done if in my kayak.  It's what you do when out on the Big Blue.
