Been just north of there a few times recently with plenty of abs in 15-25 feet.  Haven't hit the fort yet this year, but I bet if you look hard enough you'll find plenty.  In fact, on my last dive I could have picked my limit in one drop they were so thick.  Good luck!

Yea , at timber cove there were spots where I could of limited out on one dive...sooner or later those abs will move in closer to compete for food.

I dove last year at timber cove on the north end during the bad red tide, and saw first hand the abs paralized and dieing.... you could nudge them and they would fall off the rock and be limp.

I went back out to timber cove about 2 months ago, and the abs had definatly not ALL died I was seeing 6-12 per dive in like 15-25 feet of water. a good majority had to have survived the red tide at least in the area I was in. basically the north end of timber cove.
