..I have never dove with or without a spear gun but I would think you are supposed to know exactly what you are shooting at , it is a form of hunting !!!!...I was taught  to know exactly what I was going to kill in the woods and not to go shooting everything that moves.

Seriously...I sure wouldn't want to be this jokers dive buddy if the conditions were cloudy...

Or asking a CHP officer if he can drive his car down to the beach to load the "accidental" catch

I'm glad I wasn't in the same area as this guy, shooting at a shadow,I've let a lot of fish go cause I waited for the kelp to clear behind it.and yes you are suppose to know what your shooting, where your shooting and what's around you
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

I don't have any sympathy for the diver. he needs to pay the fine, community service, whatever. I don't care if he is a student, that is irrelevant.
what a waste of a healthy fish.

....  placing it piece by piece back in the sea vs. taking it to a research facility ?????  I agree though, if he felt "bad" about shooting it why ask the officer if he can bring his car down there to haul it away?  Excuse me officer, I killed someone and feal really bad but can I park in this red zone while I load up the dead body to hide it? :smt044
