Anyone shad fishing this Sunday? Yak or no yak. I'd like to give it a shot before the run is over, or is it over already? Anyone interested in showing me how it's done? I'll bring your favorite beer  :smt003

thx,
ernest

I'll fish any river. Was thinking American since thats where the previous reports were from. I'll be coming from Union City. :)
But I can only fish til 2:00p cause I need to be home in time for dinner. Also, I don't have an anchor. Not sure if I'll need one.

If u plan on fishing the AR with your kayak check the previous reports from Steveislost around the Watt area. Saw a good size school below the bridge yesterday afternoon.
Also the upper part of the river is stacked with them. Another option is to put in at Sunrise and paddle upstream a little.

Thanks for the info Matt. I think I'll postpone for a few days to get my gears ready.

I'm leaning towards Wed or Thurs. I'll tale a day off from work, so I'll have the full day. Dusting off my fly gear just in case I find a good spot. I'll post another hook up in a couple days.

Ernest,

May be up there on Thurs. (non-yak), threw the spey rod on the American Sunday and picked up quite a few. Fish moving higher up now both on the Sac and AR. At least the next couple weeks still should be good. Big hens are starting to show too. These things are a blast to catch, very strong fish for their size.
