Brought tackle with me today.  Going to try another shot at a luch time shore trip at Anderson today.  LEt you know if anything lands in the frying pan on this one.  Fishing should be great, catching a bonus.  May switch to worms and a bobber by next week if all else fails.  Found some good structure to fish within a short hike from a parking patch.

The point on the right side of the dam launch used to hold crappie from shore. Same with the area upriver from the bridge. For a bass quicky I'd stop short of the bridge and go down the trail left. Or just fish near the day use area. Good luck!

The day use area about a 1/4 mile or so past the bridge?

Welcome BD,
Haven't fished Lex, but the fishing right in front of the harbor is pretty good right now. Hope to see you out there.

I should probably start a new thread, but since this one is rolling I'll continue.  In an act of desperation my friend and I went out yesterday evening at pleasure point.  Despite the web cam and the alleged 4 knot wind we got there and it was a bit hairy.  The swell was up, as was a cross current AND a good 10-12 knot wind.  But as all "stories ending badly" go we decided to go for it anyway.  On the plus side I got out for my first kayak fishing.  Lot's of otters everywhere and it felt good to paddle out and see the surfers on the 2nd reef.  We managed to hang onto the kelp at a few spots and get a line in but conditions made it almost unbearable.  The nail in the coffin was when I got a tangle in my line and in my attempts to fix it (i.e. looking down at my reel instead of up) I started feeling like crap.  We called it a day and made it to shore without much trouble.  Hopefully better conditions prevail in the upcoming days and I'll get out again.

Where out of the harbor are you fishing?  North?  out towards mile buoy?  I'd love to hear the info on that, and when the next glassy calm day is!

Oh, and the family and I did go to lexington today just for a look see.  The water seems a bit low, but I did see a couple shore fisherman on the bank opposite the highway and a tandem kayak on the lake.  The wind was breezy but would probably be nice in the morning.  With the water level were it is it's hard to say where the good fishing might be but I'm sure the fish are there.  Hopefully I or somebody else heads out soon and reports back.

The Ocean is a Siren...she calls even when we know we shouldn't...I've been guilty of that but have learned that the fishing sucks so bad and loss of gear so exspensive that it's easy now to go when the weather is permiting.......lots of peeps use noaa.org I use swellinfo.com to get my weather info...I think if you did a search you'll find a thread on what everyone likes to use...

Good luck and I like you did the buddy system :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Now go Get Some and snap some pics if you can :smt044 :smt044 :smt044
