Looking for reccomendations on kayak seats for a Scupper Pro. I mostly dive off my kayak but whenever I fish or paddle a lot I wish I had a better seat. I only have an OK soft backrest.
Thanks!

If you can try to test the seat on your yak or at least make sure you can return it to the place you bought it from. Seats are pretty personal and you can go through a lot of them before you find the one that works for you.

I'll be getting this (for free :smt001) - hopefully by the end of the month. I'll give you my honest opinion after a few weeks of testing.

I have tried it, pretty comfy.  The tall back is TALL.  They had a few at the Ranch and some were starting to wear rather quickly, but the Ranch is brutal on gear as the sun is relentless and there is no love in rental fleets in general.  The only seat I would actively avoid are the grey rubber OK seat...its plain horrible.  Surf to Summit seats are pricey but are comfy and last a long time.  I put a tall outfitter on Bigeyedaves yak and it fit well.  Also be aware that if you have an older yak, the back will be set up with plastic buckles.  OK has abandon this setup, as have all of the seat mfgs.  You can order an adapter, or add a few pad eyes.

I bought a surf to summit seat last week from outdoor world in Monterey on Freemont for $30, they had one more there when I left and on the web I saw the same seat for $90.  It is the one with the bag not the rod holders.  I think they were just trying to get rid of some old stock.

Thanks scwafish on the heads-up  on the grey rubber OK seat...I was considering it, but it's now of my list. I need to talk to Bigeyedave anyway so I'll ask him about his new seat while I'm at it. Cheers!

Nice, I was curious about this seat.  I think I need a seat with a taller back, as I've found myself slouching in order to comfortably  "fit" into the seat my prowler came with.  Can anyone recommend any other taller-back-seats?

Mooch, lemme know what you think after using that seat for a bit  aiight?   :thumright:

Nice seat great price has nice pocket on the back with a cool Logo.

For the price its tough if not impossible to beat a Surf to Summit tall outfitter for a basic seat.  Very supportive, VERY durable.  Ours come with a basic pocket, but no rod holders.  On the ultimate bling end I have a new surf to Sumit GTS with an built in air seat, a pocket and rodholders. The assorted pockets on the seat Mooch posted look interesting too.

So, I finally got my angler enduro seat - thanks to my sponsor = Hook1 :smt023 The timing was perfect cause I got to test it in Tahoe on a 3 day - back to back fishing expedition. I have only one word to describe the comfort level of this particular seat = OOOUUUYEEAAAAAHHHH  :headbang: I could have sat on this seat for another 3 days  :smt023 It was VERY,VERY comfortable  :smt002 The inflatable seat pad definitely did it's job and the side pockets for tools and water bottles were a welcome feature (less clutter on the deck). Behind the backrest, there were two rod holders and a zippered pouch for keeping a small tackle box secured.

Helpful tip: : just remember to keep the air valve open on the seat pad - if and when you go up to Tahoe  :smt002
