After several of us asking for deadline, I asked on the LCKA FB page and got an immediate answer.

The deadline for TRW2 applications is October 9th.

Here is a few shots of the campground. There is good fishing right on the inside of the bay by the launch as well as around the head and out. I can show you general spots on a map when you hit the campgrounds.or welcome aboard.

Yes you are reading that correctly.  Congrats on navigating the confusing regs.  DFG has a handy dandy web page that is pretty helpful with lists of what is open and closed at present and explanations of when that will change:

@ Rob. The tourney is called Rockfish Wars. Nothing else to be involved with. Find a partner or show up and find one.

Thanks, that was helpful. So where the hell is the freshwater regs?

I go here, click on freshwater,
http://www.dfg.ca.gov/fishing/

Then in takes me here and listed under the freshwater box is the Ocean fishing regulations?
http://www.dfg.ca.gov/regulations/

I used google to find it, but still? That's worse than Washington's.

If the ocean conditions are blown out is there a plan b for the tournament? What other spots close by are yak friendly that time of year?

Noah's got a good question here. Not sure if I can make it this year, but I'd like to have gear ready for a backup plan if surf conditions suck. I'm not coming from out of state, but I think it's like a 10 hour drive from Fresno, so I'm definitely fishing somewhere up there.

Hope I can make it, last year was a good time.

Perhaps I'm too used to the Oregon Coast :) If all goes well I'll be there Thursday-Saturday and fishing each day.

If one did want to try and fish other options in the area, what are some good spots? If my dad doesn't do well in the salt I'd like to have a couple other options. I'm pretty sure he will do fine, but I'd like to be prepared.
