Just got a call from Sgt. Jones of the Warriors Transition Group and the estimate for his group will be 40. These are all active duty and their making this day Aug. 3rd. Their, "Place of Duty". We will have two spots reserved for us for this day. VFW (lunch) and American Legion (breakfast) will be supplying the food/drink. Waste Management is flipping the bill for reservations. California Waste Recovery Systems is donating land so volunteers can camp the night before.

Keep posting any special needs we can help with; fishing gear, loanable equipment, water jugs, bottled water, etc.  I recall we went though all the bottled water at Kelsey, right?  Ice chests filled with ice to keep the watermelons cold,  etc?
I don't know, just tossing stuff out there...
Please excuse me if I overstep my bounds, I sometimes get carried away...

Enthusiasm is always welcome.  Your pulled pork was a hit at Kelsey, so you have good
ideas.  Thanks, Jerri.

Stephen I'm glad your aboard. We have twenty Kayaks from Headwaters which will still leave us short so if anyone can bring extra Kayaks please do.
Need to know who is on our volunteer list. Looks like this will be our biggest event yet. Palo Alto has chimed in and would like to be there also. Now we also have a few coming from the S.J. Valley from the Vet Centers we are now looking upwards to 60 or 70. So chime in Volunteers if I haven't posted your name and include equipment. Also make sure your equipment is labeled.

Calling all Norcal kayakers--the good news is that Frank thinks we may have as many as 60+.  Most will be active duty so the special needs for them will be less.  However, we have the group from Palo ALto VA that looks forward to our events and they sometimes have special needs individuals.  That group and their therapists are really a joy to be with on a day on the water.   We like to stay close to this group, so guides/ safety kayakers are
very important.  We're not 100% sure they will come, but we will need to be prepared.

Now the bad news.                               There is none.  :smt003    If you have thought about helping in HOW,  this will be a good opportunity.
