Took my son and 2 newbies to Sly park ( aka Jenkinson Lake ) in Pollock Pines today. As the gracious host that I am I decided to let them catch fish while I just fished.
I was targeting smallmouth. Threw everything in my arsenal with no luck at all. had a couple of followers, but no takers.
The others caught a few trout, no real size, on yellow Rooster Tails.
I guess it was a successful outing as afterwards both newbies asked me how much and where they could get kayaks.
I know it is only a matter of time before the smallies go wild at Sly Park. It should be real soon.
