Wow, surprised he got it to the surface. Caught one about 300# in the Sea of cortez years back on a 7 day trip, it was like dragging up the bottom.

Kinda looks like they were concerned about the fish's recovery after the fight? Maybe they were trying to aerate it a bit before release.
