Well just finished up on my set-up for my Adventure Island. I have decided to not put rod holders in the front at least for now. I had to come up with away to attach the Scotty mounts to the cross bar and the akas with out drilling any holes, trying to keep the hole drilling to a minimum on this yak. So after many hours of staring, cutting and fitting I think I have come up with something pretty good, check it out in the pics. I am going with two Scotty Rocket Launcher on the back cross bar behind the seat and one Scotty mount on each of the back Aka bars, for rods or a downrigger. In the front I also made the bracket for the fish finder witch is mounted with a 1” Ram mount on the front cross bar and the battery and transducer are in the back (stern), trying to keep the bow as lite as possible. The only hole I drilled was for the FF wiring. For the Scotty mounts I am going with the 241L with the locking button. The mounts I have come up with are rock solid, I am vary happy with then :smt007.

I have been toying with the idea of moving my battery to the rear hatch (on my Revo)

Nice clean job. I like it a lot. We have the same idea about the rod holder placement, but I haven't figured out how to mount them yet. May I ask why you chose to mount the Scotty 241's sideway? Was it to get a better leverage from the flat side of the AMA mounting bar?

What are the clamps that are holding the brackets? Look like plastic...?
I have round bars, so used billet clamps, but am now playing with one of our products to get some delrin clamps made via one of the maker places...probably could also 3d print them.

Lucky13 I just like the way it looks more low profile.

SteveS the clamp that hold the mounts are SS hose clamps with heat shrink tubing on them.

Very nice setup! I am planning to set mine up similar. Don't want a lot of clutter. :smt002

Hi Pat.  Nice set up.  I Just picked up a new Adventure and am trying to be patient and think things through before I start modifying anything. I like how you used the cross bar as an attachment point for other implements.  Is your crossbar part of the aka/Island kit?  I do not plan on going Island but do like the idea of having the crossbar for rigging purposes.

Damn you Pat! I went to the Paddle Fest at Quarry this last weekend and fell in love with the AI Tandem. Sailed both but that Tandem is quick and roomy. Damn you Pat!

Great rigging Pat!  Your designs are always very well thought out!  Thanks for sharing, hopefully I'll put your tips to use on my own AI someday!  :smt003
