I haven't launched from Moss Landing either. The closest I've been to kayaking around there was in Capitola near the wharf. If you want to launch from Moss Landing i'm down. But if there's a "easier" location to launch from I would be more down haha

There are 2 launch ramps at Moss Landing.  Be prepare, it is a zoo out there especially on the weekend with the hot bite going.  I recommend launch from the single ramp.  The 6 lane ramp it's always a mad house on the weekend.  I was ou there this past Sunday and witnessed the mad house. Be careful out there on those power boats going in and out of the jetty.

Been a while since I launched out of moss but I used to park at the end of sandholdt road and put in on the harbor side, short portage but no lines/kooks.  Actually, if its crowded it might be fun to paddle over to the launch ramp at the end of the day to enjoy the show for a bit...yak appreciation goes through the roof watching some of the madness  :smt003

I'm launching out of Moss you don't have to use the ramp i think you can go around the corner at Elkhorn Slough and launch from the beach for free a don't have to deal with the madness at the ramp

Got room for a rookie?  I'd like to try salmon fishing but don't want to go on the salt alone.
