Took a break from my usual artwork to mod up a few Nerf pieces. They have paid for themselves this winter, especially when I had the flu last week. I have a steel disk hanging in the living room I have been using as a target.
These are two Maverick rev-6's, and a barricade rev-10. My wife's is the one that looks like an old Singer sewing machine. Mine has the "Mihi libertas necessest" (I must have liberty) from Captain Nemo's compass in "Mysterious Island".

Packin' some major heat there bro...haha.

Those look pretty darn cool tho.  Play around with my nephews' toys once in a while so I know what they look like stock.  Great work on the paint job.

ah, the effect is complete!
I used a dremel and some fine sandpaper to remove all the logos from them. I left an "N" on one side of mine that has become a Nautilus logo. They were a fun distraction while I've been dealing with some other stuff.

~I could keep our new 9lb/36"/ 8month old kitten off the kitchen counters without even getting off the couch, with those things!

The first night I brought them home I used one to kill a huge spider that was crawling across the ceiling, I shot it dead center without even getting off of the couch. I killed a wasp with it a few days later. That was when my wife said she wanted her own!

I did use the suggested mod of "4 pennies" as a main spring spacer. It makes the gun a little harder to cock, but for adults it is hardly noticeable. There is a slight increase in power since you are effectively increasing the spring rate. There's a bunch in how-to's on the internets. :smt044 They were so cheap I think I almost spent more in paint. I added a bunch of brass and steel parts to give them more heft. Mine is especially heavy with the brass cleaning tool and broken torch diffuser-as-scope additions.

Sweet !

We have our supply of arsenal... not as hopped-up as yours though.

Vulcan EBF-25,   CS-6 Longstrike,  CS6- Blaster are pictured.  Many more  with clips and Drum magizines are in the boy's room.

awesome!  I like the BW effect of the photo.

there's no one who doesn't find some joy in shooting one of these things.
The target I have is a steel disc that is hanging, so it makes a nice gong sound with each impact.

Nicely crafted!  My boys have been playing with the new dart guns they got for Easter all day today...went home for lunch, walked through the front door straight into an ambush!  Think I'll have to craft up my own piece!

Yeah, it was like going back in time when I used to build ship models.
This was my first real attempt at dry brushing and it turned out pretty cool.

Dude, that is rad. I'd keep one at my office if I had anyone to shoot at. All the dumb questions I get are via phone :smt012

Awesome!  I dig the brass fittings.

I got the whole idea for these from reading "Boneshaker" and getting into the Steampunk subculture.
The joke is
Q: "How many steampunks does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: "Two, one to screw in the bulb, and one to bolt useless brass parts all over it."

Sounds like your are making a Halloween costume  :smt044

Yeah Al, I think I've got a jump on next Halloween for sure :smt044
thanks for looking guys! Now I have to start getting my fishing stuff together!
