I dont have a kayak yet, still patiently waiting for the right one; but I am a very active fisherman on shore.  I've been fishing around Alameda for a while now and, still waiting for the fish.  No signs of striper or halibut... the water in the area is pretty cloudy as of today.  A few fisherman had some perch fishing from the rockwall. I've also been trying my luck around the Bay Farm island area and nothing but bat rays, but still a hell of a fight.  High tide maybe the best chance, but its at awkward times of the day/night right now.  I've seen large groups of birds diving in the water for pile worms (if that means anything to anyone) right around crab cove, and it also looks like the smelt is gone.  I'll keep fishing and keeping you all up to date.  And If anyone knows of someone selling a good fishing kayak around the east bay, im interested!

Once you start yak fishing its hard to go back to beach fishing, but they do both have there pros and cons.
