I caught a couple of videos of kayakers fishing a tube and worm set up and was just wondering if any here have tried it and found it successful.  I think it's something I would like to have a go at myself...simple rigs for simple fisherman.

Do you mean for bass fishing or something else? If bass fishing, tubes works wonders and is a great alternative when the jig bite shuts down.  And as for worms, they always seem to work when the bite gets tough...green, purple, black or blue.  Good luck and sorry if I misunderstood your question and babbled about irrelevant information... :smt003

The error was mine: I meant for striper fishing.  The one video I watched had a 32lb striper caught on a red tube 'n worm setup.  The tube was about 12" long and had wire running through it to a hook.  The guy in the video used Gulp sandworms as bait and slow trolled the rig along the rocky bank.  It just looked like a good way to pick up a striper or two.

I believe they mostly use that in the east coast.

yup...north east where they're feeding on sand eels. A long while back I used eel like baits with no success here, in all fairness my attempts were brief.
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

I have a couple white tube eels I brought back from a trip home to MD. I've caught stripers on them here - and was fishing one in Corte Madera just today. They're light and tough to cast.
