I just wrapped some electrical tape around them  :smt044    They feel pretty snug, but will see if this helps keep them in while OTW!  :smt003

Tad, I just looked at mine and they appear to be the same.

Thanks Hobie jockeys,
If my last technique does not work I'll try the tapes again or the Dip It stuff.
Is that the stuff you use to dip tool handles and such in at home depot or lowes?
Another thought I had was to put surgical tubing over the pegs :smt002
I still think the design sucks :smt013

The design does suck, that's why the 2012 models were changed.  I think duct tape is your answer  :-)

Yes the Dip-it is the stuff you dip tool handles in it comes in red or black.

I initially was haunted by the same issue. I found that if you I mount the plugs to the back holes they stay on better because they're not at a slope. Anytime you put lateral force on the seat pegs they would come off. Also, I had adjusted the way I move my butt around. I don't put weight on the seat as I reposition my butt. Haven't had a problem in the last 10 or so outings.

Yeah the lateral force of my butt almost sent me overboard when the whole seat bottom did a quick release.  I wonder if we can upgrade to the new seat pegs if they prove to be worthwhile?

I always mount them in the rear holes.

Mounting them in the rear holes makes my strap to the back for tension work.  The strap is pulling the seat into the holes with the tension to the rear bungie.

I had a thought on this topic :violent1:, and thought I would share  :smt002

I think there might be another solution!  :smt103 :smt104 :smt119 :smt120

The issue for me is that my seat moves around when I shuffle around on my boat, and the pegs pop out.

The seat now slides quite a bit while i'm trying to get the pegs back in the holes.

They were in there just fine, but my big  :fat is just too much for them and they pop out.   :smt009

More pressure or tension to keep them in?

How about reducing the pressure ON them?  :smt002

So this is what i'm going to try:

Under my seat, to see if it stops 'slipping' and pulling out the pegs  :smt003

Probably won't be sticky once it gets wet.

I use this stuff in my Outback (the car  :smt044) to hold my subwoofer in place.  Theres a ton of sand back there, and it doesn't topple over on Hwy 9, 17,  etc. I also used it on my wheeleez to give some more 'stick' to the padded bars, and with a wet yak I was able to pull it up a hill without strapping it down because it stuck so good  :smt002  Reminds me, need to replace that stuff on my wheelez  :smt044

If it doesn't work under your seat, it's pretty awesome for keeping your gear from sliding around inside the hull on a surf launch and/or cart ride down to the water.

On the AI It was way too easy to slide around in the seat, since your reaching forward all the time and ducking under a sail every once in a while.  So after my first outting with it being miserable I went and got some of the stuff I mentioned before at the Dollar Tree in Scotts Valley. Well I must say, it has worked really good for me so far!   :smt003  After 5 trips the plugs have not slipped out except for the first outting.  If anyone wants to give some a try, i've got plenty extra to share  :smt002
