Jackson hooks up with Select Design to make the Ultimate river fishing boat. This made me laugh. Enjoy.

I think that's pretty damned cool.
I know some river spots that would be so much more attainable with a kayak like that. Better than hiking in and much easier to portage than a SOT.

 OUCH,,,   :smt013   I've been clogged.        :smt044

It all depends on what angle you view it.        A Slipper,,, maybe.
Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

I cant see fishing from a yak in rapids that require a white water yak. Having paddled rapids many times, this looks like lost gear at best. I can see rolling, breaking rods etc.

I don't see it as fishing the rapids, more of getting through the rapids to get to a nice hole or sweet run that holds fish whereas it would otherwise be inaccessible.
Someone who knows what they are doing in a kayak like that, with such little drag on the yak in the water, could hit some pretty sweet spots from below.
I would never have such a kayak, but imagine doing a drift down the south fork of the American river. Much more agile than a whitewater raft. Only need one person to operate. Can easily pull off to the side when you need to.
I totally see the advantages of that filling a particular niche of fishing.
I took my Tarpon 16 from Rucky Chuck to Mammoth Bar once because everyone said I couldn't. It wasn't that big of a deal. Had to portage a couple of low spots. This kind of kayak would have been a breeze.

Guys this kayak and blOg was written as a joke. If you read the last couple of lines of the blog article you see that it was all in fun.

I do agree that using a kayak to get through some rapid to a good hole is a brilliant idea. I think I would use a Jackson Rouge or Remix XP. On the South Fork I would take my Coosa. In fact thats a run a couple of us from the HeadwTers Fishing Team have talked a out doing sometime soon.

Should have waited till April 1st to post this :smt044

No way! It has to be real, there's video evidence on Kayak Angler Magazine's YouTube channel:
