I was just checking out the California Coastal Records site, and found the area is covered in a green patch.  Further googling revealed there was some discussion about the whole Gerstle Cove all the way to Sea Ranch being placed into an MLPA but that info is from 2007.

Any one can offer some updated info on this??  Thanks a lot.

Yes the whole area I  is a SMCA State marine conservation area with a state marine reserve inside of it Gerstle cove it's self..  which means some game can be taken Fin fish and abalone only. Now with saying that there is and has always been the Gerstle cove reserve that is still in place and is a no take zone but  just that little cove. the rest of the area up to the north end of fisk mill cove is open for fin fish and abalone after north fisk you are now into the Stewarts point SMR. SMR means state Marine Reserve no take zone.
