Small HOW event San Pablo 4/5/2012

We have 3 - 6 vets that want to go kayak fishing on April 5, 2012 at San Pablo Res.

This is our first attempt at a scaled down event with a small group of vets.   We will post more info as it becomes available.

That's the Dream...

It's only taken 3 years to get here, but we finally did it....  The VA Palo Alto is bringing us a " small group..." 10 Max ,,,

and EBMUD and Rocky Mountain Concession are helping out too...  Entry Fees waived again and quagga muscle inspections being done by EBMUD Rangers...

Still working on Rocky Mountain to use Kayaks all ready at the lake to help our logistics so not to have to bring extra yaks...

 Not sure how many volunteers we may need for this, and lunch if we do it, will be a small affair of hotdogs and such....

    Just finishing up their rehab before Redeployment or Honorable Discharge...

If I didn't have to work I'd be there.  Sounds like it's really starting to happen!  Congrats to all of you.

Not exactly sure yet as we still need to talk to the VA about how early they can get there, but stay tuned and we'll post info as soon as we get it...

The Vets will be arriving around 8:30/9...

 The event is going to end early around noon, so that would fit very well for this event....

 FrankFishing is actually taking over this one too...  Huge scheduling mix up on my part and I have to leave 1/2 way thought this one. I'll be there in the morning, so please, if you are looking to help on this one, make sure you keep Frank in the loop or contact him directly....

we have a few non ncka that may be helping with lunch and racin robs friend Bob to help with shore fishing as there is at least one vet who wants to do just that.

I'm pretty sure we only have 6 wounded vets participating, with possibly only 4 to 5 on the water, but family might show, therapist might want to go out, but that will be figured if that can happen or not at the lake as to our resources and time.

We still need to figure if we are putting on a small lunch or not and need to figure that out soon. That would just be hotdogs, chips, water, whatever is easy...

at the moment, we are not bringing extra kayaks, I'm working on getting the lake to let us use the kayaks already there...

Entry to the lake is waived, just say your with Heroes on the Water...

quagga is being done by the lake ranger, but we still need to pay the $4.50 fishing permit fee

keep tuned as if I do not get confirmation on use of those kayaks in time...
