I am about to purchase a kayak cart but can't find what I want so far, can any one help? I like the wheeleez ability to travel on sand but most of the time I won't need that and a much more durable rubber tire would be more practical. The simple answer would be to buy one cart and two sets of wheels but after talking to a sales person the axles don't interchange. So my question is, can I get one cart that will use the soft wheeleez tire and change to a rubber tire or do I have to buy two carts, one for the sand and one for everything else.
Thanks

I live inland and use beachwheels all the time. I have yet to get a flat anywhere around here. The downside is they are harder to store in the kayak. When I take my smaller boat I use the mini beach cart and that does a great, also you could swap to the black rubber tires if you felt the need to. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your help but it leaves me with another question !
OK, so your saying that the low presure wheels on the wheeleez cart can be changed to a rubber tire? Also you mention your smaller boat, I have a OK Prowler 15, would you consider that a comfortable fit for that large of a kayak on a mini beach cart ?
Thanks Again

Save yourself the "What if" questions.  Check out the classifieds for a group purchase of beach wheels.
If you go with the small wheels its like driving your car with a spare doughnut tire.  Just don't work right.

This question comes up often, and you will find that 90% or so of the people here on this board recommend/use wheelez, for every terrain you can encounter.  Yes expensive, but wont fail on you!  If you want a cheaper cart, buy what ever you like, but in the end you may be coming back to purchase a wheelez!  :smt002

I tried building my own out of PVC, which was a fun project.  It worked, but not that well.  Decided I needed to go back to the drawing board and wound up purchasing the wheelez.  Soooo much happier now.  I have a T13 and they stow nicely in the front hatch.  Buy the wheelez,...you'll be happy.   :smt002

The carts will last, so eventually getting 2 carts isn't out of the question. The smaller tires will still work 90% of the time. There was a time when they were the only option! Of coarse that was back when my main yak hauler was a stegosaur :smt044

I'm certain someone could engineer a cart that would accept both, and then wheeleze would buy the rights and shelve the design :smt002

Thank You all for your input, I am not able to build my own and would rather buy a manufactured cart. I am leaning toward the full size Wheeleez rather than the mini, remember my cart is 15ft and 65lbs empty. I know it is more money but it seems it would carry more weight and make trips to and from more stable and comfortable. I know that makes it harder to stow but would it be practical to deflate the tires for storing in the front hatch and  re-inflate the tires for traveling ? Thanks again and I do appreciate all your recommendations. Full size or mini ?

Full size fits into my hatch no problem.  As Al said, there r numerous posts of diy carts that eventually break down, and those w/ other brands or the mini version who wished they had purchased the larger Wheeleez.  Your back and legs will thank u for it.

Check with Dan at Headwaters Kayak Shop in Lodi.  They were doing a group order and it brought the cost down to like 175.00.  It may be too late but I would give him a call.

I agree. With a kayak as big as yOur p-15 you should get the large beach wheels. You can stow them without deflating. I may have one more set of Beach wheels from that group order for $175 but need to double check with victor.
