Me and my buddy went fishing at San Pablo reservoir Friday 3/23 bright and early. Unfortunately we were unable to launch our kayaks cause there was a tiny bit of sand in our yaks. Apparently all boats must be washed with a chemical wash and thoroughly washed and dried plus 3 weeks out ofthe water before admittance to prevent alien mussels from getting into the lake. Total bummer, so we ended up just renting a motor boat, pretty cheap at $32 for 3 hours, But we still didn't land anything. Tossed rattle traps, those big bass lures, powerbait and worms. Beautiful morning on the lake despite technical difficulties.

Thanks for the report there ebrew, sorry to hear that they didn't let the yaks into SP Res. Although I know East Bay lakes are pretty thorough in their inspection, I didn't realize that this reservoir was that strict in its inspection.

Ya try to respect the rules of zebra mussel inspection, but it's also frustrating when there is no set standard/process when it comes to this inspection. All the lakes I've been to that has inspection goes about it differently, even one lake ignoring the inspection and letting me through (wtf?!)

Anyways, I'm glad that ya did get to fish that lake. Hope next time, things will go w/o any technical difficulties. Thanks again for the report :)

I don't remember them being that strict. Maybe a different guy was there doing the inspection. Anyhow, Lake Berryessa may give you a better chance of catching some fish. Thanks for the report and BTW, welcome aboard.
