I did not realize how "hooked" I am this year. It's been 1 week since my last day on the water. I need to get out. Damn rain. I've been fishing 2-4 days a week most of the year. I'm only on the couch right now because I know how muddy and bad the water is for most species not to bite right now. Otherwise I'd be geared up and out there. Ive got the shakes going on. Anyone feel the same?

I was a little slow out of the gate this year in getting back in the yak/license/gear together. Caught first good fish of the year at Folsom a week ago to the day. I had that big smallmouth spot etched in my mind. The fever was building.

I just checked the water level on Folsom. It's up 6.5 feet since I fished it and rising fast.

Rob, this phenomena happens every winter  :smt045. Either members get uptight and start arguing about wolves or the turtle and zombie topics start popping up via threadjacks. Hang in there buddy, we shall fish again  :smt002 For now, I suggest you start organizing your tackle box (sharpen those dull hooks from rockfishing), Lube those reels, clean up that piss stained wetsuit and get caught up reading/looking at those dirty magazines that are stacking up  :smt023

I think I will stay local and fish in my pond in the pasture. No fish, just get to practice casting.

Well....Red Dog "danced" with a skunk last night and needs a salt water swim so I am headed out to pump some shrimp for tomorrows hunt. The wife is leaving town for a week so it's full speed ahead no matter what the weather offers up.

WTF,
Are you whiners fishermen or what?
In case you forgot, the fish are already wet.
If you are having withdraws, get out your rain gear and do something about it.

Ive got the shakes going on. Anyone feel the same?

I get the shakes just thinking I can't fish this weekend. Can't complain though, I think I've fished all but 2 or 3 weekends this year, though not from the yak.

Spring steelhead in the feather NOW and downrunners are always grabby. This rain will push more into the system....so...low flow section anyone?
