Has anyone used an electric Zodi camp shower water pump as a bilge pump.  I dont know what the GPM output is on the water pump but it runs on 4-D batteries and seems that it would be small and light weight.  Any input would be great.  Thanks.

The need for a bilge pump on a yak can mean that you are in serious trouble to begin with, to rely on something that uses electricity would be kind chancey to me, looking at it I couldn't tell if the battery pack was in anyway waterproof.  All the parts, and batteries probably puts it near the weight of a manual pump.

A manual pump is pretty foolproof.  wet or dead batteries not an issue.

Might be a good choice for a bait tank pump.

Thanks point well taken.  That is what is nice about this site is that straight ansewers are given.  Thought it would be pretty neat to have the electric pump put you are correct in that it is a safety device and why rely on electricity when the crap is hitting the fan the last thing you need is something not to work.  Thanks!!!

whats wrong with having both?

I put a 12v 150gpm pump in my Raptor and also carried a hand pump; when I took a rouge wave from behind, it was very reassuring to watch all but a cup full of water get pumped out automatically...
