Since my mom was in town me and my wife were able to get out this morning together, a truely rare treat.  Nana rocks!

The conditions were beautiful, and the bait was good.  My wife was happy just to be out there.  At five foot and a crumb, she looked like a speck on the eX.

We trolled for about 45 minutes and Leah went bendo.  She was so happy!  The fish came to the boat really quickly, and then made a bunch of crazy lunges and thrashes, and eventually got crossed up with my line.  The fish made a long run, and the tangle came magically undone.  I passed Leah the pliers and bam...she holds up a REAL nice early season fish.   :fishing1

I caught nada, but was super stoked to see her so happy.  We released the fish so its still available for the tourney.  :smt002  We were off the water by 11:30.

Not only does your kid catch bigger stripers than I do, now your wife does. I think I am going to cry!   :smt010

I'm not supposed to log in to stuff while at work...others are watching!

The fish'n'dive has been high and dry. I've been working too much to play. I am ordering a set of Malone j stackers so I can carry that beast. I'm trying to get permission to go play this weekend as my work is caught up now. Oh darn did I say that?  I did manage to have fish tacos last night, yummy rockcod from the freezer. I gotta go fishing now and that was the last of frozen fish!

Go ahead hurt my feelings......I'm shopping for a penn 114 to tackle the real fish!

Brian G,

I've noticed you've been spending a lot of time on that NorCal Kayak Angler's site.  I really can't condone such action at work.  Why don't you take the rest of the week off and go fishing?  I hear the striper action is starting to heat up at Lake Mendocino.  Any time you need a day off so as not to miss the hot bite, just let me know.  I'm sure we can work something out.
