jtf, chuck, and myself met at mill creek early this morning.  it was overcast, warm with light winds, 5-8ft swell.  we paddled out to a wash rock, it took about 1/2hr.  there were schools of blue rockfish suspended in 100ft.  we tried to avoid those, looking for larger prey. i was messing around catching and releasing, then i caught a small sanddab on my shrimp fly. i left him on thinking a big ling would eat it but none did, they did however eat the megabait [maybe the sanddab was a teaser].  i caught a 36" ling, i realeased a smaller keeper and kept a limits of vermillions, coppers, blues and a gopher rockfish.  the combination of a hangover, little sleep, a stomach full of coffee and red bull and the rather large swell left me feeling a little green.  i left a 11;30 am.  chuck and john looked like they were on their way to limits also.  lots of traffic on the way home. 2.5 hrs to get there, 3.5 hrs to get back.  careful if you go this weekend, not much road left around lucia.

Nice going Chris!  That ling's a beaut.

Hope the weather holds for this weekend - I'm feeling really itchy right now.
