I'd like to tell you but last year I blanked - both Saturday AND tournament day!  :smt010  :smt011

The year before I caught what would have been the winner - the day before the tournament.  :smt013   I was dropshotting a roboworm.  Pretty much dumb luck, but still my largest LMB at 6lbs.

I'm sure you'll receive plenty of ideas and tips come 1pm on Sunday, April 15th.  :smt044

All that said, most people fish minnows.

Me too... Works so I've heard. I have 2, 3 lure cali rigs. With second pole stamp I can run both??!! I'm gonna ask DFG if it's legal
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Yes, that is my preferred method but when on the move from point A to point B, troll a C-rig.

Who knows? Could be every single bass within striking range of Soda Bay will be on a bed.
What will the great minnow-only fishers do then?
Quote

I know what I'll be doing!   Fishing for the 70% of bass that are not bedding!

According to an experienced bass guide and pro I saw once, he claimed that during the spawn on CL that roughly only 30% of the bass in an area will be on beds at any time and that the other 70% are either staging, post-spawn or not breeding.  This guy did not fish beds for ethical reasons and stated there was no need. I agree and have caught non-bedding fish during the spawn, but that's a personal choice everyone has to decide.  So seems like good odds and plenty of opportunities to fish, and not have to disturb beds at all.  Assuming we don't relive the "Great Hurricane of 2010", all methods should produce, artificials and jumbos, whatever your fancy!
