Just get out there with everyone and look over the setups. Also cruse the site. You can get so much on the kayak! All you really need is a Yak and pole/tackle. The rest is just toys! :smt005
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

new to kayaking here as well.  aside from the necessities, such as PFD, whistle, lights, etc., I got all my ideas from browsing through new and older postings here.  A lot of my gear was purchased on Amazon.com, mainly because I have a prime account with 2 day shipping, but the no tax is a plus.  As for the simpler things such as milk crate and rod leashes, you can easily make them yourself and save some money.  You should be able to find all the information that you will need on this site, just search around.

I've been looking into a fish finder as well.  Let me know how that Elite 4 works out for you, I've been thinking about that one as well, but still need to save some funds for it.  Good luck.
If you ain't first, you're last.

Depending on your size I may be able to help with a closeout Wetsuit or Drysuit. I have a few sizes of each left in stock from 2011 closeouts.

Hey all, I'm new to this sport too.  Just got my first yak and installed ff and crate.  Learned it all right here on this forum.

I'd also be interested in a dry suit, I'm about the same size 5'11 195.  If you have 2 I would be interested in the 2nd one.

Thanks

Try to buy at least a few things from the shops that support NCKA, Headwaters, fisherman's warehouse, ETC.
who knows you may win a kayak or some prize from them by just participating in the fun.
get a VHF floating radio also check REI clearance for deals.
I am also kind of new to kayak fishing but now I am gear up and ready to get them.

Welcome to the board (MadDNeSs :smt003 ),
As stated above ... I am always heading to local water on either Sun. or Mon.
I'll be glad to have you join me if you're intrested.
Also I have the Elite-4 in stock and will have a NO TAX sale this Fri. and Sat.
If you're intrested in either hitting the water together, or need some gear, I'm not that far away.
Call me if you need anything

See Ya Soon,

P...Boy84,
Thus far I have only done them in Fresno ... I will see if they could use me in Manteca for a seminar.

A...2..H,
 I remember that  :smt001,
If your free stop buy for the seminar, I might be able to address most of the questions you might have, and help you get geared up.
