I say we pool them all together and make a golf ball sculpture of a lingcod then donate it to the club house.

I think they usually pay divers to collect golf balls from scummy water traps, I'd say there's gotta be some value in them.

I'm sure most of the balls are Pro V1s- they are $50 a dozen new.  Btw, when golfers see a canyon or deep waters, it's customary for many to hit into it. I don't know what the rationale is... b/c it's there?  ... although I have seen some ugly slices/shanks in my time.

I bet the goodness of the majority here will outshine the ugliness shown by a few minority.  Thx Chaeki for taking the initiative to reach out to them and do some PR.

I know I have seen a ton off the southern point one spot must of had a couple hundred ! I did not have any game bag on e so I did not pick any up, but thought the same as you all clean up dive and try and sell them back and donate them money to Watermens Alliance or SCAN or some other fishing and diving group.

Happy Gilmore type drives with a slice that would make a baseball pitcher proud. That's my golfing style (curse :smt044 ) At the cost of balls now... Probably just bad golfing :smt044
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Please if you see Tiger Woods ball, save it for me. :smt005 I doubt he would have one in there though. Last time I was out there rockfishing, I wished I was playing a round of golf instead. I don't think I can drop that kind of money though.

The second one is made to give off noise as you jig it up & down. The beads make a nice clank against the ball. Hopefully the Stillwater lings aren't conditioned to go for Pro V1s lol...because I have a whole bucket of old/range balls!

What a great idea Pat!  I've got a 5 gallon bucket full of old balls.  Some came from SWS too.  I think I'll make some and try it out.  Save me from buying lead weights and it probably just bounced off the rocks too instead of snagging. Make sure you yell "FORE"  when you cast that rig!

Have you tried fishing with them?

In Hawaii, we'd use golf balls for night fishing with glow grubs.  They sink so slowly, you could easily target whatever depth you wanted by counting & a real slow retrieve.
