NorCal Kayak Tournament Angler of the Year

Was wondering if it might be possible to come up with a point system to see who is the true tournament champion kayak fishermen of the year. With all the added tourney's was wondering if we could come up with a fair point system to see who can master the water the best in tourney formats. Just wondering if we could get something like this going.

Jim, I was thinking the same thing but this would require the individual tournament directors to keep track and report all of their contestant's placings here online. If they would be willing to do that I think it would be cool to see who's best overall once we factor the tournaments in with AOTY. Especially since some of those tournament directors would definitely be in the running! jim

At Crabfest we had 4 finishers but I can try to find the paperwork and see who the top ten were.

Whoa! Crabbing, abing, clamming, etc? I'd like to see who's the best overall FISHerman. Also, Crabfest has already occurred. There should be no retroactive scores.

I was just throwing this out there since most groups have something like this. I know we have the AOTY but this would be something geared to those who fish and participate in the tourneys. I am sure Scott could use another addition to all his other accomplishments listed on his profile. 

I am just trying to get the most possible things out there in hopes to get one. I was lucky enough to get the Fishermen's Warehouse Grand Prize without catching a dang thing so there is always hope!

Well it would be for the year, I don't see why crabfest wouldn't count. It was the biggest event of the year so far and had lots of NCKA participants. Plus its up to the angler to make the tournaments not all anglers will be able to attend all for the most part.

Well for one , it wasn't setup yet.  TO be honest I would have recorded m catch had there been something in the works. And last sorry but crabbing is fun but it ain't part of the AOTY category.  It's crabbing not fishing.
Great event though.

Cool idea Jim! Like an NCKA Tourney Trail! We'd have to establish a list of "official" NCKA events that qualify for the Tourney Trail. There's gotta be like 8-10 big tourneys/events that could qualify. But maybe only keep track of Top 3 finishers to be consistent...seems like most tourneys don't keep track of places 4-10. Then maybe 15-10-5 points for the Top 3 finishers?
